Day 1 – Yangon Sightseeing

After breakfast, meet our friendly guide at the hotel and start the walking tour by seeing City Hall, colonial building with Myanmar Architectural Style, Sule Pagoda, Rowe and Co-operative Department Building, High Court, Emmanuel Baptist Church and Independence Monument from the Mahabandoola Park which is in the heart of Yangon. After that, continue walking to see the colonial buildings such as Telegraph Office, Rander House, Lokanat Building, Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank, Inland Waterway Department, Myanmar Port Authority, Currency Office and Strand Hotel. Then, take a visit to Botahtaung Pagoda that houses the hair relic of Buddha and lies on the bank of Yangon river.

After lunch, continue the visit to Bogyoke Aung San Market (Scott Market) for your shopping. And then, Kandawgyi lake to enjoy the panoramic view of Shwedagon Pagoda and Royal Barge, Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image which is known for its massive structure and, the last and the best, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda known as the first Buddhist pilgrimage in Myanmar, the most famous tourist attraction and land mark of Yangon. After that, back to hotel.

Day 2 – Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock

After breakfast, meet our friendly guide at the hotel and drive to Bago City, the capital city of 16th century. Bago City is situated about 80 km, about 2hr’s drive, north of Yangon. On the way, we will visit Htauk Kyant Allied War Memorial Cemetery. It is a memorial cemetery of allied soldiers who died in Myanmar campaign during the 2nd World War. There are over 6,000 tombs and 27,000 allied soldiers’ are recorded on the pillars. Then, we will drive straight to Bago to see Khya Khat Waing monastery. It is the biggest teaching monastery of lower Myanmar. You can see the daily life of Buddhist monks. Then, visit Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda, the highest one in Myanmar.

After lunch, we will drive straight to Golden Rock. Our car stops at the base of the mountain. We will take the public lorry ( about 1 hr ) to visit Golden Rock as it is on the top of the mountain which is over 3,000 feet (about 1000 meters) high above sea level. On arrival, we will check in at the hotel and visit Golden Rock. Overnight at Golden Rock.

Day 3 – Golden Rock – Mawlamyine

 

After breakfast at the hotel, drive down to the base of the mountain by a lorry and we will drive in our private car to Mawlamyaine, also known as Little England.

After lunch, we will drive to Thanphyuzayat to see Allied War Cemetery and Dead Railway and stop at Win Sein Taw Ya, the world biggest reclining Buddha Image. And then, we will drive back to Mawlamyaing for Sein Tone ancient monastery and enjoy panoramic view of Mawlamyaing city and sunset from Kyaik Thalan Pagoda. Overnight at Mawlamyine.

Day 4 – Bilu Island – Yangon

After breakfast, drive across the Thanlwin river and visit around Bilu Island(Ogre Island) which is an island in Chaungzon Township, Mon State, located west of Mawlamyine. The island is roughly the size of Singapore, and population is over 200,000 people. The people in this island are from Mon tribe and live on home industries. We will visit Black Board workshop(Slate), rubber band workshop, weaving process and wooden pipes, pencils and pen workshop.
